Who is eligible for the Alexx Flores Opportunity Scholarship?

The Scholarship is open to high school students graduating from a Los Angeles County high school or transferring from a Los Angeles County junior college who are enrolled or admitted to a four-year university for the Fall 2021 term.

What can the scholarship be used for?

There are no restrictions to where the Scholarship funds can be used. Funds will be disbursed directly to the student upon acceptance of the award.

Who can I ask to be my recommender?

Anyone who can speak best to your grit, determination and perseverance in your personal, academic or work life. The only exceptions are for immediate family members (i.e., mother, father, brother, etc.)

What is the Scholarship amount?

The Alexx Flores Opportunity Scholarship will be at least $1,000, depending on annual funding. We hope to increase this amount in the future.

I am a DACA recipient, I am eligible?

Absolutely yes. We welcome all DACA recipients to apply.

Is there a degree requirement for the Scholarship?

There is no degree or discipline requirement for the Scholarship. Students pursuing any major at any accredited, four-year university in the United States are welcome to apply.

I am an international student, am I eligible?

Yes, as long as you are graduating from a Los Angeles County high school or transferring from a Los Angeles County community college.
